Large Labia are an Aesthetic Problem

Malformed labia or unwanted conditions in this region are a very personal matter, If such a condition is present, the affected woman is always inhibited from going to the doctor and being treated. Instead, many women choose to suffer in silence.

This doesn’t have to be the case, there are possibilities to change these things without enormous effort with the help of intimate surgery, i.e. with an operation.

Causes of Labia Change

On the one hand, misshapen labia can be congenital, i.e. have always been present. On the other hand, they can occur after a birth.

Labia are Inherently Different – Incorrect Anatomy can Lead to Impairment

Inner labia (Latin Labia minora) are visible and protrude beyond the outer labia instead of being hidden under the outer labia. They then rub against each other and cause discomfort, such as inflammation.

Outer labia (Latin Labia majora) can be too small or too large, If they are too small, the outer closure of the vagina is missing. If they are too large, they are bulging and too prominent.

Aim of Treatment in the Genital Area

The aim is to ensure that the outer labia are harmoniously shaped and close the vagina, that the inner labia lie underneath and are not visible.
We answer all questions that arise in a conversation before the operation.

Procedure of the Treatment

The labia minora are corrected by removing the excess protruding parts using a special cutting technique, reducing the labia in size. The operation is performed under general anesthesia and after the operation, an antiseptic template protects against infection.

If the labia minora are too small, they can be replenished with either hyaluronic acid or autologous fat. Then they can close the vagina and cover the inner lips and their own fat is taken from the stomach or the waist.

If hyaluronic acid is used, this type of labia correction is usually performed under local anaesthesia. The substance lasts up to two years and then has to be refilled.

Follow-up Treatment

When our patients go home after the labia reduction, they get everything they need: Painkillers (little, it doesn’t hurt very much), my mobile number (just in case), good advice as well as check-ups in our Wellness clinic found in Germany.

The region must then be able to heal in peace: Four weeks no sex!

Risks/Complications

Postoperative bleeding or suture tearing after reduction of the labia minora should not occur. Therefore: No mechanical stress: See above.
We do not perform an operation on the (non-existent) hymen.

When Should Surgery not be Performed?

Serious underlying diseases and local infections prohibit labiaplasty./
